Postgraduate Coursework Degrees
These courses are for students with an undergraduate degree who want to improve their career prospects. Most students enrol in a Graduate or Postgraduate Diploma, which can then be followed by a Masters degree, although direct entry to a Masters is possible for those with additional experience or qualifications - see Course Admission for further information.
Graduate Diploma in Mineral Exploration Geoscience
This course provides an introduction to the role of geology in the mining industry and requires no prior knowledge of geology. Students should have an undergraduate degree in a non-geology subject, or substantial mining industry experience. It is taught part-time using mailed-out materials and on-line resources, with two field classes in Kalgoorlie - more information
Postgraduate Diploma
These courses are for geology graduates looking for specialist training or other graduates considering a career change. They require one year of full-time study or longer if taken part-time. Those with limited geology experience will need to take background units and further study at Masters level is likely to be needed before embarking on a geoscience career.
